Shadow of Death is the first book in a brand new series Echoes of the String Walker by Gayle Katz. I loved the unique twist that Gayle put on Shadow of Death and the people in the shadows. Yes, Shadow of Death has many twists that kept me hanging on page after page. I was hooked from the first page. I could just see it all playing out in my head as if I was watching a movie. Shadow of Death is about a woman, Sidra who lost her little girl four years ago. After the death of her daughter Sidra’s marriage fell apart. Sidra now lives alone with her little dog. Sidra has a secret that she is hiding from the world. A secret that she vowed to take to her grave. Sidra is being followed by a dark figure. A man that is always hiding in the shadows. He appears out of nowhere. Sidra has no idea what this man wants or why is stalking her. Who is this man and what does he want with her? Why is he stalking her? Shadow of Death is a dark, misty read filled with mystery and suspense that kept me racing to the end. My head felt as if it was on a swivel going from one side of the page to the other. I couldn’t read it fast enough as I wanted to know what the next page would hold. Shadow of Death is a great start to this new series Echoes of the String Walker. I can’t wait to see what is waiting for us in the next book Game of Hunters. After the ending of Shadow of Death, I can’t wait to see what that title Game of Hunters holds. The name alone is enough to have you wanting to know more. I highly suggest that you grab yourself a copy of Shadow of Death today and start this new journey into the world of Echoes of the String Walker with Gayle Katz!

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great. I am so ready to pick up the next book. The writing was wonderful. I like the ending and happy that I don't have to wait for book two to come out. This is a very unique thriller that I have ever read.

A truly unique science-fiction, action-adventure page-turner! The darkness that surrounds the main character, whose only brightness is her loyal empathic dog, is compounded by a persistent stalker always there—either in the shadows or taking up residence in her head. This story is one of the most entertaining I have read in a while, and I will definitely read the remaining two books of this series asap to see if the main character is able to unravel the mystery that is her life. This book is well-written, easy-to-read, engaging, and totally enjoyable. This author never disappoints; and I look forward to other upcoming books.

creepy fun with universe hopping This was a delightful surprise! A well-written stalker mystery with a ‘string walker’ who can move through different universes, all with relatable characters, and even a cute pooch called Chippy. An enjoyable few hours.

Solid writing throughout. Channels some Narnia, Dark Tower, Dr Who vibes at times which keep it colourful and fun even with its varying shades of light and shade.
Energetic start to what I’d classify an urban fantasy series.

great story I can’t believe there’s another book to read. I don’t like long monologues. I won’t get next volume. But it’s a great storyline
